The British rock musician Brian May wrote a doctoral thesis in astronomy.

Scientific work on “Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud” was left unfinished and has been gathering dust in the attic for 36 years ,since 1971.
Then the guitarist of Queen abandoned his academic career and devoted himself to the group that he founded with Freddie Mercury.

His defense in Imperial College is scheduled for August 23 and reminds us that the 60-year-old Mae (BrianMay.com) already has a degree in physics from London University.

The musician intends to organize a concert for the opening of a new telescope in the astronomical observatory at La Palma in the Canary Islands, where the work on the study of stellar dust was completed last month.
He received the title of honorary doctorate from the University of Exeter, south-east England, and recently wrote a book about the Big Bang and the evolution of the universe with two other British astronomers.

Recently, “Bang! – The Complete History of the Universe” was translated into Bulgarian and published by Ciela titled “Blast! Complete History of the Universe”.

Co-authors of the luxury edition were Sir Patrick Moore and Chris Lintat who host the popular astronomical program on BBC “Sky At Night”.

It began to be aired in 1957, shortly before the launch ?f the first artificial satellite of our planet.

Starting in the early 70′s and crossing during the 80′s Freddy Mercury Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon wrote hit after hit. From their first single “Bohemian Rhapsody” to their last concert, their music reigned in radio stations from Britain to America,  Europe and Australia. In 90′s, Queen redirected their efforts from touring to recording. They collect more and more fans around the world.

Unfortunately in November 24. 1991 year, suddenly and in the midst of his forces Freddie Mercury died after of complications from his illness – AIDS.

After his death the remaining members of Queen decided that “the show must go on and continue to issue compilations.

Although Freddy left, the Queen’s music can’t be forgotten.
